A WORD OF WELCOME

If you are reading this page, something has drawn you toward this community. Maybe curiosity, or a friend's invitation, or a longing you cannot quite name. Whatever it is, we are glad you are here. You do not need to have your theological questions answered before you walk through the door. You do not need to clean up your life before God will receive you. The Christian gospel has always been a word addressed to people who know they need something they cannot provide for themselves. If that is you, you are in exactly the right place.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON A SUNDAY MORNING

When you arrive, you will be welcomed, genuinely, not as a sales pitch. We are a small enough congregation that new faces get noticed, but we try hard not to make that attention feel awkward. Come as you are. There is no dress code.

The service lasts about 90 minutes. We sing together, pray together, and listen to Scripture and a sermon. We celebrate communion regularly, and we invite all who come in faith to receive. Children are welcome throughout the service; we also have care available for little ones who need it.

After the service, we linger. Coffee is reliably present. So are people who would genuinely like to meet you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I have to be a Nazarene to come?
No. You do not have to be anything other than a person interested in learning more about Jesus and this community. Visitors of every background and tradition are welcome.

What does "Nazarene" mean?
The Church of the Nazarene is a Christian denomination in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. We are rooted in orthodox Christian belief - the Trinity, the authority of Scripture, the death and resurrection of Jesus, the hope of eternal life - with a particular emphasis on the transforming power of the Holy Spirit and the call to holy living. Think of us as deeply Protestant, broadly catholic, and thoroughly Wesleyan. We have family resemblances with Methodists, with the early church fathers, and with the whole company of those who have followed Jesus through twenty centuries.

What about my kids?
We love children. They are part of the community, not a problem to be solved. We have programs for children and youth, and we are always looking for families who want to raise the next generation in faith together.

Can I come even if I have doubts?
Yes. Unequivocally, yes. Faith is not the absence of doubt. It is the decision to keep showing up even when certainty is thin on the ground. We have room for questions, for wrestling, for the honest "I'm not sure about any of this." You will find people here who have walked through that territory and come out still believing - not because everything was answered, but because they met something in the community and in the practice of prayer and Scripture that proved more solid than their doubts.
